Improvements:

NEW TOUR & ACTIVITIES SEARCH UPDATES [BETA]

After releasing its first iterations in our previous production releases, Bookeasy has continued working on the new and improved tour and activities search. The new search screen has a main focus in speed, providing Staff Console users the ability to load and find specific tour and activity products faster than ever before.

In this release we've:

  • Enhanced the activity search screen's page state so that your search filters are remembered when you navigate back and forth between the search screen and viewing products.
  • Thanks to the fantastic feedback provided via our Bookeasy Community Facebook page, we've amended the "From" price so that it now displays the adult ticket price.
  • A new "Reset Search" option has been introduced so you can easily clear your filters and start over with a clean slate.
  • A new "Clear Favourites" option has also been introduced to easily clear all of the products you've bookmarked.
  • We've cleaned up and streamlined the toggling between the My Operators tab and the Bookeasy Distribution Network tab, and toggling to view your favourites has also been improved.
  • The "Book Now" button for each activity product's "Product Info" popup modal has now been enabled.
  • We've removed package and campaign only products from appearing in search results.

It's a massive project amd Bookeasy is looking forward to continuing development as per our project plan, with upcoming features to include the introduction of availability previews for selected products, new product profile pages, the inclusion of bookable event products into the activity search, full custom rate type compatibility for partner connected tours, and upgrades to the beGadgets so destination websites can also benefit from these improvements.

OPERATOR RETURN RECONCILIATION UPGRADES  [#12494]

Bookeasy has completely refactored the operator returns process, which has resulted in significant improvements to how quickly Bookeasy can collate and display all the bookings to be included on a return. This provides a much sought after speed increase for high volume destination partners who generate thousands of bookings on each monthly return.

Adjustments have also been made to the user experience to provide better visual queues when creating a new return.

The legacy .ASP "View Operator Returns" screen has also been upgraded. All the familiar search filters have been retained, results now load much faster and the user who ran the return is now included in the table results.

A new "Operator Returns Queue" page and left menu item has also been introduced. It's purpose is to display Operator Return Reconciliations that have commenced or have been saved in the last 24 hours, including their current status and visual queues when a return is being saved.

As a result, these enhancements now provide users the ability to commence the process of running an operator return, but should they need to abandon the return before saving it, they can access the abandoned return via the new Operator Returns Queue and pick up where they left off.

Although the physical act of saving a high volume return is unable to receive further speed improvements, the introduction of the new Operator Returns Queue has resulted in better performance so that when a high volume return is being saved, users are not impacted should they want to continue to use other areas of the system whilst a reconciliation save is in process. If the user returns to the Operator Returns Queue to check on the save progress, they'll be provided visual clarity on whether it is still processing, inclusive of a progress bar.

AFFILIATE BOOKING ENGINE [#12735]

Online customers making bookings via the Affiliate Booking Engine can now click on the operator's name in order to advance to the operator's product / profile page.

TOUR OPERATOR BOOKING ENGINE PAX FILTERS [#10831]

Bookeasy has improved the Operator Booking Engine for tour operators so that when a pax type is not in use by the tour operator, it will no longer display as an option to be selected by the customer.

PARTNER CONNECTED OPERATOR BOOKING CANCELLATION EMAILS [#12399]

Partner connected tour operators will now be sent a courtesy email in the event Bookeasy detects their Tour Management System is not capable of processing cancellations made from Bookeasy. The email will recommend they login to their Tour Management System and manually open up availability for the date cancelled in order to ensure their tour becomes available for resale.

CLIENT SEARCH RESULTS [#12783]

Bookeasy Staff Console client search results now include the business name.

BOOKEASY ROOMS AVAILABILITY SCREENS [#12801]

The dropdown that allows an operator to select a month has been cleaned up so that it only displays the current and future months (i.e. it no longer displays past months). Users can still jump back to previous months by clicking the back arrow, whereby those months will then appear in the dropdown.

WESTPAC .ABA BANK FILE FORMAT [#12432]

We've updated the operator returns Westpac bank file format to their latest standard.

BOOKING FEE AUTO CANCELLATIONS  [#12691]

In the event an itinerary is set to auto cancel due to a failed online payment, any booking fees that have been inserted onto the itinerary will now also be auto cancelled.

REMOVAL OF REDUNDANT EXCEPTION REPORT OPTIONS  [#12732]

Bookeasy has cleaned up the Exception Report by removing the legacy "Returns" and "Returns Not Paid" exception report options from the system.

REMOVAL OF LAST MINUTE DISCOUNT DAILY RATE FUNCTIONALITY  [#12684]

The legacy last minute discount daily rates functionality has been removed from Bookeasy Rooms consoles. Accommodation operators can continue to provide discounts via the Specials functionality.

Bug Fixes:

"Extra" Fees for Rezdy Products [#12862]
Resolved an issue that was preventing additional fees from being added to the total cost of a booking when a Rezdy product was added to the shopping cart via the Bookeasy Staff Console.

Unallocated Payments for Returned Retail POS Items [#12393]
When a POS Retail item is returned, the cash or eftpos payment recorded will now correctly allocate itself against the retail item/s returned. These recorded payments will no longer appear as unallocated.

Tour Manifest CSV Export [#12938]
Upgraded the tour manifest's CSV export functionality so that it properly caters for tour names that include commas. Prior to the change, if the tour name included a comma then it impacted how the columns rendered in the manifest's CSV export.
